Finding My Crocs

I remember it like it was yesterday. The first time I tried on a pair of Crocs. It was like being hit by a wave of comfort. I didn’t want to stop walking around the store. I was in disbelief. I had been wearing tennis shoes for comfort all my life, but those couldn’t even hold a candle to the amount of comfort I was currently feeling in that pair of Crocs. But, I wasn’t always this open to wearing Crocs.

From the first time I slipped a pair on my feet, I did a complete 180 and fell in love right then and there. I started looking at them, trying them on every where I saw them. But I still didn’t buy a pair, because I couldn’t get over the design and the colors. I was holding back because I knew there was no way I would wear them in public.

Then one day in the sporting goods store, I saw them, the pair that would become my lifeline. Mary Jane style crocs. I searched the display franticly until I found my size, and my color, snapped those babies up and wore them out of the store. My feet have never been happier. These are the most comfortable shoe I have ever been blessed enough to put on. My fallen arches are praising Croc’s glory daily now.

Then, a few months later, my life changed for the better. I was at a sporting good store, and I came across a pair of Crocs that didn’t have that bulky look I was used to. I tried on a pair, and surely enough that comfort was there. I frantically searched the shelves for a pair in my size and color. I put them on right there, took the box to the counter to pay for them, and walked out of the store wearing the shoes that I never wanted to take off.

I was almost in disbelief that they were Crocs. It definitely had the comfort all Crocs wearers have come accustomed to, but these were very fashionable. I tried on a few different pairs, and my curiosity began to amount. I wondered just how many other styles of Crocs were there.

Now all I have to do is slip on my Hanalei, Rio, or Postiano’s and look pulled together and no one will ever know that my feet are wrapped in luxurious comfort and not screaming from being pinched together in some hard, inflexible shoe.
